Hello everybody! Welcome to the home of iCOG Studios. For those of you who don’t know us, we’re a small iPhone application development company located in Calgary, AB! At this time we have 2 parts to our company.  The first part is our games! We have a true passion for games and decided to try and make a career out of it.  Our first title Laser Lights is an iPad (soon to be iPhone) game that makes you think of puzzles in a whole new light (pun intended). The second part is our business app side. Our programmers have a deep understanding of business application development.  If you would like to talk business feel free to contact us! For now let’s meet the team!

Mark Hazlett

Mark first found his passion for software when working for Apple Inc. as a tech support agent. Since then Mark   attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and graduated from the software development program. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, climbing, coding , and video games(HoN, MW2 are his 2 favourites). Mark has a true passion for Apple products including the iPhone/iPad. His first experience coding a game was during the 48 hour marathon that was Global Game Jam. After that spark, a fire erupted and now it’s a become a true passion of his that he is turning into a career.

Mike Magnus

As a young boy Mike Magnus became enthralled with video games. His earliest memories were playing Super Mario World with his two older sisters. As time grew, Mike became more interested in all facets and genres of video games. Likely years of his life have been spent in front of a screen blasting away countless enemies, of both the human and computer variety. Through these countless hours he began to show super human ability to fight the evil in the world, as if Duke Nukem had a child with Samus Aran. Alas, Mike took some time out of his crime fighting, and opted to focus more on school and eventually graduated from The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. During school he participated in a competition known as Global Game Jam and helped produce a truly unique piece of work. This was the point of inception for iCOG, and although the team had been slightly different, all the original members were part of that competition. Now he tries to balance a life of fighting crime with the desire to produce new, unique games and game concepts.

Chris Lee

Chris can’t remember when he started playing games.  The furthest back he can recall is space invaders on his atari system, it was probably somewhere around there.  He eventually caught up with the times and as games evolved into a more artistically inclined medium he became amazed at their potential and decided at an early age this was where he wanted to pursue his career.   Around that time Chris began developing his art, a skillset that came to define him as an person.  He learned to think critically, and to express himself through art and writing.  He’s been waiting eagerly to get into the industry, writing scripts and animating since a young age.  Chris one day hopes that instead of creating visual images, games will become the venue through which he can deliver his artistic body of work.  He now attends ACAD in Calgary, and tries to play as many games as he can get his hands on, though time really doesn’t allow him to finish a lot of them.
